so ive been flying for almost two years now and i genuinley dont know a single person in my actual life who cares about drones at all. my girlfriend thinks its cool for about 30 seconds when i show her footage and then shes back on her phone. my coworkers either dont know what a drone is or they immediately ask if im spying on people which is so tireing to deal with every time. i feel like this forum is basically the only place where i can mention something like motor temps or ND filters without everyones eyes glazing over. anyone else or am i just a hermit

haha no you're not alone. my wife is supportive in a general sense but if i start talking about anything technical she just nods and looks at her phone. found one guy at work who has a phantom 3 from like 2016 that he never really learned to fly so we have conversations but theyre kind of frustrating because he doesnt want to learn anything new. this hobby is weirdly solitary for something that takes you outside so much

joined a local club last year mostly for this reason. its hit or miss honestly some of the guys there are really cool and some are kind of insufferable about rules and regulations but at least theres people who get it
