ok so i always thought fly-ins sounded kinda boring like what are you even doing just standing in a field with strangers watching drones go up. went to one last month because my buddy dragged me along and honestly it was one of the best afternoons ive had in a while. somebody brought an fpv long range build that was just stupid fast, and this older guy had a restored nitro plane from like the 80s which had nothing to do with drones but was still sick. we ended up doing this loose group flight at sunset over the creek and it just looked unreal. definitely going back next month. anyway if youve been on the fence about going to one of these things just go

the old nitro guys always show up at these things lol. theyre grumpy sometimes but they know so much about airspace and reading wind its actually insane. i always end up hanging around them more than the drone crowd

which one did you go to? im trying to find something in my area but theres nothing listed on any of the usual sites. do clubs even advertise these or is it all just word of mouth
