this has been bugging me for a few weeks now. one of my motors ? front right i think, its the CW one ? keeps throwin the prop mid flight. not every flight but maybe every 3rd or 4th and obviously by then im already digging it out of the grass or worse.

ive checked the prop nut torque, replaced the prop twice, even swapped to a different prop brand. motor shaft looks fine, no visible wobble when i spin it by hand. the only thing i havent done is actually swap the motor itself because i just put these on like two months ago and theyre barely used.

running 5149 tri-blade props if that matters. someone mentioned maybe the motor bell is slightly out of true but i dont really know how to check that properly. anyone dealt with this before or know what im missing

had this exact issue last year, turned out the motor shaft had a tiny flat spot worn into it where the prop nut seats and the nut was just never getting proper clamping force even when it felt tight. couldnt see it without looking really closely under decent light at an angle. swapping the motor fixed it immediately. two months isnt that long but if you got a bad batch or it took one hard crash at the wrong angle it can happen faster than you'd think.

also worth checking if the prop nut itself is stripped, they get chewed up quicker than people expect especially if youve been tightening with a lot of force repeatedly.

is it self-tightening direction? like the CW motors should use a standard righty-tighty nut and the CCW ones are reverse threaded, its embarrassingly easy to mix them up if you grabbed a mixed pack of prop nuts at some point. probably not your issue if its been working at all but worth double checking before you swap hardware
