so ive been dealing with this for like 3 weeks now and its driving me insane. im flying my mini 3 pro and somewhere between 400-600 meters it just drops the video feed and sometimes the RC link entirely for a few seconds before reconnecting. doesnt always happen at the same spot, and it doesnt seem to be range related because ive flown way further without issues before this started.

im using the RC-N1 controller with my phone (samsung s22) and ive tried turning off wifi on the phone, airplane mode then re-enabling just bluetooth, all that stuff. interference maybe? im in a suburb so yeah there's wifi everywhere but it never bothered me before. changed the channel from auto to a specific 5.8ghz one and it helped a little but not consistently.

anyone dealt with something like this or have any idea where to start

the RC-N1 is genuinely bad for interference-heavy environments, like its fine in open fields but suburbs and urban areas just eat it alive. the phone wifi thing is a good first step but honestly what channel did you switch to? some of the 5.8 channels overlap with common router bands depending on your region. i usually try to find the least congested channel with a wifi analyzer app first before just picking one. also worth checking if a neighbor got a new router recently, sounds dumb but ive had that cause issues before.

if you can swing it the RC2 or even the RC1 makes a noticeable difference in these conditions, the dedicated controllers handle multipath interference way better than the phone-based setup. not saying go spend money but if it keeps happening thats probably the real fix.

had almost the exact same thing happen with my air 2s and it turned out one of the antennas on the drone itself had a slightly loose connector inside. not fully disconnected just... not seated right i guess. signal was fine close up but degraded weirdly at distance. worth opening it up if youre comfortable or sending it in. also dji fly app version? there was a version a while back that had some reconnection bugs.
