so im heading to Iceland for about 10 days and obviously bringing the mavic. ive been reading conflicting stuff online about where you can and cant fly there. some sites say you need to register, others say its fine for recreational stuff under a certain weight. anyone actually been there recently and done this?

also wondering about the weather, i know its unpredictable but like how unpredictable are we talking. i had a trip to scotland last year where i got maybe 3 good windows in a whole week so kinda mentally prepared for that but still hoping for better

went in september two years ago, it was incredible but yeah the wind near the coast is no joke. i lost like two days just waiting for conditions near the black sand beaches. the highlands were way more flyable honestly. registration wise i think you do need to sign up on the Icelandic transport authority site, it was pretty straightforward when i did it but things might have changed so double check.

also stay away from the national parks without proper permits, theres rangers and they will tell you to land. learned that the hard way near Thingvellir

cant help with the rules stuff but jealous as hell, Iceland is on my list. bring way more ND filters than you think you need, the light there is super flat and weird for like half the day especially if youre going in winter months
