so this is kind of random but i was out at the club field this morning and there was this older guy there who had never flown anything before in his life. like he just showed up with a brand new mini 4 pro still in the box and asked if anyone could help him set it up. we ended up spending like two hours just getting him going and it was actually really fun watching him get excited about it for the first time

reminded me why i got into this in the first place tbh. he kept asking questions about everything and his first flight was so nervous and shaky but he landed it himself. dude was probably 65 at least. anyway just thought that was a nice way to spend a saturday morning

thats actually really wholesome. the field i fly at has kind of a clique-y vibe sometimes so it's cool that you guys helped him out instead of just ignoring him

honestly those moments are the best part of the hobby. i got helped out by some random guy at a park when I first started and he spent like an hour with me even though he clearly had better things to do. paid it foward a few times since then. also the mini 4 pro is a solid first choice for someone like that, way more forgiving than what most of us started on
