finally got my Mavic 3 Classic last week ? few things i didnt expect

so i upgraded from my Mini 2 and honestly the difference is bigger than i thought it would be. the Hasselblad color profile thing is real, i was kind of skeptical before but shooting in D-Log M and then doing even a basic grade in Lightroom... yeah ok i get it now.

one thing that caught me off guard though is how much heavier it feels in my bag. like i knew the specs obviously but actually carrying it around all day at the coast on sunday made me realize my old Lowepro bag isnt really cutting it anymore. anybody have a bag they actually like for the classic? something that fits the RC controller too without being a massive production to carry around.

also the obstacle avoidance is way more aggressive than i expected coming from the mini. it kept stopping on me during a shot where i was trying to do a low pass over some rocks and i had to switch it off to get the clip. is that normal or do you kind of learn to dial it in over time?

congrats on the upgrade, the classic is such a good choice over the pro if you're not doing the dual tele stuff constantly. for the bag i've been using a Shimoda Explore 30 for about a year now and it fits the classic plus RC plus two extra batteries and a bunch of ND filters without feeling like im lugging a suitcase. it's a proper hiking bag too so if you're shooting at the coast or anywhere you're actually walking it makes a difference. not cheap but i've stopped thinking about it since i got it.

on the obstacle avoidance yeah that's just how it is, especially in the more complex presets. i fly in APAS Normal most of the time and it's a lot more manageable. the Sport mode obviously turns it off entirely but thats a bit nuclear. just experiment with the sensitivity settings in the app and you'll find a middle ground that doesnt stop you mid-shot.

i have the same drone and yeah the obstacle avoidance thing drove me crazy at first too. i still havent fully figured it out honestly but i found that if you slow your approach way down it kind of stops freaking out as much? not a perfect fix but it helped me get a shot i was trying at a beach a few weeks ago. the color stuff is amazing though right, first time i properly graded a clip i just stared at it for a while lol
