propeller straps ? actually worth it or just annoying

  • Members

ok genuine question because i see people swearing by these and other people saying they never bother. i picked up a 3 pack of prop straps off amazon for like four bucks thinking they were a no brainer but every time i try to use them on my air 2s the props just kind of pop off when i put it in the bag anyway so whats the point

am i using them wrong or are they just kind of useless for this drone specifically. i feel like my mavic mini never had this problem but that might just be because the props on that thing are so small they dont really flop around

yeah the cheap ones on amazon are hit or miss, the silicone tends to stretch out pretty fast and they stop holding tension. the ones dji used to include with some kits were actually better quality. honestly for the air 2s i just wrap a wide rubber band around the whole body which sounds ghetto but works perfectly fine and costs nothing. keeps everything tight and doesnt scratch anything.

I think the issue with the Air 2S is the prop design, they're a bit looser on the mount compared to older minis so straps dont sit as securely. I gave up on them and just use a soft case that has individual slots for each arm, keeps everything in place and the props cant flap around at all. Bit more bulk but worth it imo especially since i once pulled my drone out of a bag and a prop tip was cracked, no idea how it happened but never again.
