EVO II Pro keeps losing connection mid flight, anyone else had this

  • Members

not sure whats going on, this has been happening more and more lately. usually around 300-400m out it just drops and then reconnects after a few seconds but its making me really nervous about losing it. im flying in a pretty open area so i dont think its interference but who knows. ive updated the firmware recently which i thought might fix it but no luck

the drone comes back fine when it reconnects but that few seconds of nothing on the controller is not a great feeling. anyone run into this or have any ideas what to check first

had something similar a while back, turned out my controller antennas werent positioned right ? sounds dumb but i was holding it with the antennas pointing toward the drone instead of flat and perpendicular. made a noticeable difference once i adjusted. also worth checking if there's any wifi channels in your area causing interference, you can use an app like WiFi analyzer to see whats crowded and then switch your controller channel in the Autel app settings if that option is available on your firmware version

are you flying near any cell towers or power lines? i ask because my EVO II had werid dropouts and it took me embarrasingly long to figure out i was always launching near this one electrical substation. moved my takeoff spot like 200m away and never had the problem again. probably not your issue but worth ruling out
