okay so this has been bugging me for a few days and i feel like im going crazy. updated to the latest firmware last tuesday ? the one that rolled out with the RC2 controller update ? and ever since then the obstacle avoidance behavior feels completely off. like it used to stop reliably when something was in front of it at maybe 2-3m and now it either stops way too early like 6-7m out or just kind of hesitates and slows down without fully stopping.

ive done the IMU calibration and compass calibration already. reset the obstacle avoidance settings in the app back to default. still feels wrong. its not dangerous exactly but its not how it was before and im not gonna trust it on tight shots until i figure out whats going on.

anyone else seeing this or did i somehow mess something up in the settings. using DJI fly app obviously, RC2 controller. the sensitivity sliders are all where they were before as far as i can tell

yeah there was a bunch of complaints about this on the DJI forum too right after that update dropped. seems like they tweaked the avoidance thresholds in the firmware itself and some people are seeing exactly what you're describing ? more conservative stopping distance than before. its not bricked, its just behaving differently than you're used to which is kind of annoying when you muscle memory your way through shots.

someone mentioned that doing a full aircraft reset in the app settings (not just the sensor calibration but the full parameter reset) fixed it for them, got it back closer to pre-update behavior. havent tried it myself since my unit feels okay but might be worth a shot before you go down the rabbit hole of thinking something is physically wrong with the sensors

honestly this is why i wait like 2-3 weeks before updating firmware on anything i use for paid work. let other people find the bugs first. not trying to be smug about it just learned the hard way after a motor efficiency update on my mavic 2 changed my flight times enough to mess up a job i had planned.
