Mini 3 Pro vs Mini 4 Pro ? is it actually worth the upgrade

  • Members

So ive had the Mini 3 Pro for about a year and a half now and honestly I love it, no real complaints. But my buddy keeps telling me the Mini 4 Pro is a huge step up and i should trade in or sell mine and upgrade. I mostly do landscape stuff, occasional family videos, nothing crazy professional. The omnidirectional obstacle avoidance sounds nice but i cant say ive ever really crashed into anything with the Mini 3 either so im not sure how much that matters in practice.

The price difference is still pretty significant even used and im just trying to figure out if theres something the 4 Pro does that would actually change how I fly or the quality of what I get. Anyone gone from one to the other? Was it one of those things where you immediately notice the difference or more of a "well i guess this is slightly better" kind of situation

Honestly went through exactly this debate like 6 months ago. I had the Mini 3 Pro with the RC controller and was pretty happy with it. Ended up getting the Mini 4 Pro on a Black Friday deal and... it's good, genuinely good, but if you're doing landscapes and family stuff the image quality difference is not going to blow your mind. The log footage handling is a bit better and the low light is noticeably improved if you fly at golden hour a lot. The obstacle avoidance in all directions is nice for flying through trees and stuff but like you said if you're not the type to push into tight spots you probably won't use it much. I'd say wait unless you see a really good deal or your Mini 3 starts giving you issues.

the 4k 100fps on the mini 4 pro is the thing that got me, slow mo stuff looks incredible. but yeah if your not shooting slow mo clips or doing anything in tricky spaces the mini 3 pro is still a great drone and people forget that. dont feel pressured just cause its newer
