EVO Nano+ keeps disconnecting mid flight ? anyone else had this?

  • Members

so ive been dealing with this for about two weeks now and its driving me crazy. im flying the EVO Nano+ and somewhere around 200-300 feet out it just drops connection to the app. the drone hovers fine and comes home on its own which is good i guess but i lose all the camera feed and telemetry while its out there. tried reinstalling Autel Sky app twice, didn't help.

my phone is a Pixel 7 if that matters. signal bars on the controller look fine right up until it cuts. gonna try borrowing a friends iphone this weekend to see if its a phone thing but wanted to check if anyone here has seen this before or has any ideas

yeah the Autel Sky app has been a bit of a mess with certain Android phones for a while now, theres a known thing with some Pixel devices and USB-C handshake timing. definitely worth trying the iPhone first before you start pulling your hair out over hardware. if it works fine on iOS then you know its a software/phone issue and you can either wait for an update or just keep a cheap iPhone around for flying lol. also make sure your USB cable is fully seated, sounds dumb but that connection on the Nano controller is a bit finicky and a half-loose cable will cause exactly what you're describing.

I had something similar with my Nano (not the plus) and it turned out to be interference from some wifi equipment near the park I was flying at. moved about half a mile down the road and never had the issue again. probably not the same thing as yours since you said the controller signal looks okay, but worth keeping in mind if the iPhone test doesn't fix it.
