ok so this might be a dumb question but im genuinely confused. ive been flying a 5inch for about a year, got comfortable with it outdoors, and now i want something for indoor flying cause winter is coming and i dont have a good outdoor spot in cold weather. i live in an apartment so we're talking flying around rooms, maybe a small parking garage sometimes.

i was looking at the Pavo Pico cause it seems popular and the whoop style ducted design seems safer for indoors. but then i see people talking about the Mobula7, the NewBeeDrone AcroBee, and even some of the BetaFPV 65x stuff and i honestly cant figure out what the actual differences are beyond size and price. like do they all fly the same, is the camera quality comparable across that price range, and is there one that tunes better than the others because i already know i wont be happy with a default tune after flying my 5inch the way i like it.

budget is probably under $150 if possible but i could stretch. not looking for cinema quality just something fun to rip around indoors without destroying everything i own.

the Pavo Pico is solid but honestly for pure indoor bashing the Mobula7 HD is what i keep coming back to recommending. the 75mm size is just more forgiving in tight spaces than the 85mm class and the tune out of box is better than most in that range imo. you wont have the same fine tuning headroom as on a 5inch because the PIDs on tiny whoops are way more sensitive to prop wash and the gyro is just working harder at that scale, but its still betaflight so you can get in there.

camera quality across all of them at that price is going to be mediocre, thats just the reality of sub $150 micros. the Pico has a decent enough vtx but if image quality matters even a little id look at what camera its shipping with right now cause they seem to change the configs every few months.

had a Mobula7 for two winters and it was great until i snapped an arm and the replacement parts took forever to arrive. after that i switched to the BetaFPV 75X and havent looked back, replacement parts are way easier to get. honestly at this size they all fly pretty similarly once you tune them, dont overthink it too much or youll spend more time deciding than flying which is the actual fun part lol
