ok so background: im getting into fpv mainly to do some travel content. not trying to race or do hardcore freestyle, mostly want smooth cinematic shots and something thats small enough to not attract too much attention. i have a DJI goggles 2 already from trying a friends setup.

ive been going back and forth between the flywoo explorer LR4, the betafpv pavo25, and the DJI avata 2 but that last one is kind of in a different category i know. my budget is around $400-500 for the quad itself since i already have the goggles.

the thing is i cant figure out if the prebuilt cinewhoops in that range are actually worth it or if ill just be fighting them the whole time. i dont really want to learn to tune betaflight from scratch yet, at least not right away. just want something that works reasonably out of the box. does that exist in this price range or am i kidding myself

the pavo25 is pretty well regarded for what you're describing, the betafpv stuff has gotten better with their out of box tunes in the last year or so. that said if you already have DJI goggles 2 you gotta make sure youre looking at the o3 version of whatever you buy, dont make the mistake of ordering the analog or wrong digital variant ? ive seen people do that and its an annoying return process.

honestly for travel cinematic stuff with minimal fuss the avata 2 is probably the most painless option even if its locked down more. depends how much you want to tinker eventually.

i mean the flywoo explorer LR4 is more of a long range cruiser than a cinewhoop so thats kind of a diffrent use case from the pavo. they both fly fine but you'd set them up differently and fly them differently. if smooth indoor or close proximity shots are the goal the ducted props on something like the pavo are gonna give you way more confidence flying near stuff.
