ok so ive been going back and forth on this for like three weeks now and im driving myself crazy. i mostly want to do travel videos, some landscape stuff, maybe the occasional family trip. nothing crazy professional. my budget is around the $700-800 range so both of these fit but barely.

from what i can tell the Mini 4 Pro is lighter which matters for travel since i dont want to deal with registration in every country, and the obstacle avoidance is apparently pretty good now? but then people keep saying the Air 3 has better low light performance and dual cameras which sounds awesome but like... do i actually need that.

i watched probably 15 youtube videos and they all just say "it depends on your use case" which is the most unhelpful thing ever. someone who actually owns one of these please just tell me what you'd do

I have the Air 3 and my buddy has the Mini 4 Pro and we fly together pretty regularly. honestly for travel the Mini wins just because of the weight thing ? under 249g means you skip so much paperwork headache depending on where you go. EU drone regs alone make it worth it if you travel there at all.

that said the Air 3 dual camera setup is genuinely great, the medium tele lens gets used way more than i expected. low light is also noticeably better on the Air 3, like not even close on some shots. but if youre just doing casual travel videos and landscapes the Mini 4 Pro footage is still going to look incredible and most people watching your stuff wont know the difference. i think if i was buying new today specifically for travel id probably go Mini 4 Pro and put the extra money toward an ND filter set or a good bag.

i was in the exact same spot a few months ago lol. went with the Mini 4 Pro and zero regrets. the APAS 5.0 obstacle avoidance saved my drone like the second week i had it flying through some trees like an idiot. footage looks great and its so easy to just throw in a backpack without stressing about it
