so this has been driving me insane for about two weeks now. my mini 3 pro was flying perfectly fine for months and then suddenly it just starts dropping RC signal every few minutes. not full failsafe, just the video feed goes static and the RC latency spikes to like 800ms before it comes back. usually recovers in 5-10 seconds but obviously thats terrifying when youre 400m out over a lake.

i havent changed anything that i know of. same phone, same RC-N1 controller, same flying spot. only thing i can think of is i updated the firmware like 3 weeks ago but i kind of doubt thats it. tried toggling between 2.4 and 5.8ghz and the 5.8 is actually worse now which is weird because it used to be pretty clean. checked the antenna connections on the controller and they look fine visually.

anyone had something similar just randomly start happening? im starting to wonder if something is physically wrong with the controller or if theres some new interference source in the area i dont know about.

the firmware thing is actually more likely than you think, had something similar after an update last year where the CE/FCC mode got reset without me noticing. worth checking that first if youre in a region where you can run FCC, makes a noticeable difference on range and stability. also the 5.8 getting worse is kind of a giveaway that theres probably more RF noise in that band around where you fly now ? new wifi routers, neighbors got a mesh system, whatever. 5.8 is way more sensitive to that stuff.

id also genuinely check if someone nearby put up a cell tower or a new piece of infrastructure. ive had a spot get completely unusable after a telecoms company installed some equipment about half a mile away.

have you tried a different phone? i know you said same phone but ive seen cases where the phone itself starts causing issues, like a background app grabbing the wifi radio or something. sounds dumb but it fixed a dropout problem for me once. also what distance does it usually drop at, is it consistent or totally random?
