losing places in every race on the technical sections, not the straights

this has been bugging me for a while and i finally want to ask because ive been racing for about a year at local events and im consistently mid-pack. the weird thing is on the long power sections i can keep up or even pull ahead on guys but then they just walk away from me through the tight stuff. im not crashing, just slow.

i figured maybe its a tune issue or my rates are off or something but my mate watched some of my DVR back and said my lines look ok to him. running a 4inch on a smaller track series we do indoors. not sure if this is a throttle management thing or what. feels like im braking way too early going into gates maybe

almost definitely throttle management honestly. most people when they start out treat throttle like an on/off switch in the tights and the fast guys are barely coming off it, they're using roll and pitch to redirect while keeping momentum up. watch some raw DVR from top pilots at your level and look at their throttle trace if they have OSD overlay ? you'll see how little they actually cut.

also dont dismiss the tune thing entirely. if you have too much filtering latency the quad feels sluggish through quick direction changes and you subconciously slow down to compensate. whats your dterm and filtering setup look like, are you running stock 4.4 filters or did you tune them down

i had the exact same issue and for me it turned out my camera angle was too low so i was perceiving speed wrong and overcooking my braking points. bumped it up like 5 degrees and the gates started looking diffrent somehow, easier to judge entry. probably not your problem but worth trying if everything else checks out
