so ive been using litchi for probably 3 years now and its fine, does what i need, but i keep seeing people mention dronelink and honestly i dont know if its worth the subscription cost on top of everything else i'm already paying for. been doing a lot of corridor mapping lately for some real estate stuff and the litchi interface is starting to feel a little clunky for anything more complicated than a basic orbit or waypoint run.

my main thing is i fly a mini 3 pro and an older mavic 2 pro depending on the job. dronelink supposedly handles both but i want to hear from people who actually use it day to day not just someone who downloaded the trial and flew once around their backyard. does it actually handle terrain following better or is that kind of overhyped. also curious if the mission planning on desktop syncs reliably to mobile because thats one thing litchi has always been solid on for me.

switched from litchi to dronelink about 8 months ago and havent looked back honestly. the terrain following is genuinely better, not night and day but noticeable if you're flying anything with elevation changes. the desktop planner is where it really shines though, being able to set up a whole corridor mission with proper overlap settings and then just push it to my ipad is pretty seamless. had one or two syncing hiccups early on but i think that was a wifi issue on my end.

one thing i'll say is the learning curve is real. litchi feels more intuitive at first but once you get your head around how dronelink structures missions it makes more sense for complex stuff. the subscription stings a little but for paying work i just build it into the quote.

cant really compare the two but i tried the dronelink free tier with my air 2s and found the interface kind of overwhelming at first. probably fine once you learn it but just throwing that out there if youre used to litchi being relatively straightforward. also not sure how well it handles the mini 3 pro's obstacle avoidance integration during waypoint missions, might be worth checking their compatibility page before committing to anything
