so ive been building my own quads for a few years now but honestly im kind of burned out on the build process at this point and just want something i can fly without spending a weekend soldering. been looking at the nazgul eco v2 mostly because i already have a bunch of xing motors lying around so the parts are familiar to me but im not sure if its still a competitive option or if theres something better at that price range now

the other thing is i fly mostly open fields and some light freestyle, nothing crazy. not trying to race or anything. budget is somewhere around 200-250 for the quad itself, i already have the radio and goggles sorted. anyone running one of these recently or switched to something else

still running my nazgul eco v2 and honestly its been solid. the stock tune is not amazing out of the box, i had to bump up the d term filtering a bit because it was getting pretty hot on the ESCs in summer but once i sorted that out its been really reliable. props in saves have been fine, frame takes hits ok. for your use case i think its still totally fine, the hype around newer options isnt always justified especially when you factor in parts availability

one thing though - check what vtx version you're getting, some batches had the analog vtx and if you're on dji or walksnail thats gonna matter. i think the v2 eco has a digital variant now but double check before ordering

i switched from a nazgul to a geprc mark5 last year and i dont think id go back tbh. the mark5 just feels better in the air, way less prop wash on fast direction changes. that said its a bit more expensive so depends if youre at the top of your budget already. iFlight stuff has always felt a little plasticky to me but they fly fine i guess
