Just completed a month-long field test comparing the ALIENTECH DUO 3 signal booster against stock RC Plus antennas on my M30T. Testing was done in mountainous terrain with heavy foliage coverage during summer conditions.

Results: Stock antennas: 3 miles max at 600ft AGL. DUO 3: 4 miles at 400-600ft AGL. The directional antenna allows flying approximately 200ft lower while maintaining the same connection distance.

Installation requires controller modification and voids warranty. Users risk damaging the original remote control during installation. Is the range improvement worth the complexity and cost for commercial operations?

That's impressive range improvement, especially the ability to fly lower. For commercial mapping in challenging terrain, the extra range and obstacle penetration would justify the cost. The DeiMox would probably create even more stable signals without dropouts, but the price point is hard to justify for most operations.

The warranty void is concerning for commercial use. What happens when DJI releases firmware updates that break compatibility? The installation requires disassembling the remote and careful cable handling - one mistake and you're looking at expensive controller replacement.

For forestry and SAR applications, that 200ft altitude reduction while maintaining range is huge. Operating simultaneously in 2.4G, 5.2G, and 5.8G frequency bands gives redundancy when one band gets congested. The risk/reward calculation depends on your mission criticality and backup equipment availability.
