mini 3 pro vs air 3 ? is it actually worth the extra money

  • Members

so ive been going back and forth on this for like two months now and i cant make up my mind. currently flying a mini 2 which i got last year and its been great but im ready to upgrade and keep landing on either the mini 3 pro or the air 3. the price difference is pretty significant depending on where you buy it, like almost 300 bucks more for the air 3 with the fly more combo.

my main thing is i mostly shoot family stuff and some landscape, occasional trips. nothing commercial. i dont NEED the extra range or whatever but the air 3s dual camera thing is really tempting. the 1/1.3 inch sensor on the mini 3 pro is already really good from what ive seen so im wondering if the jump to air 3 is just overkill for a weekend hobby flyer. anyone actually made this switch or own both?

had the mini 3 pro for about eight months before i got the air 3 and honestly... both are great but they serve slightly different needs. if youre mostly doing family stuff and casual landscape the mini 3 pro is genuinely hard to beat. the image quality is excellent and the under 249g thing is still super convenient, i dont have to think twice about throwing it in a bag.

that said the air 3 dual camera is not a gimmick, i use the medium tele all the time now and i kind of miss it when i go back to the mini 3. if you travel a lot and weight isnt a huge deal id lean air 3. if you want something more grab and go, mini 3 pro saves you money and honestly you wont feel like youre missing out in terms of image quality. the sensors are closer than the spec sheet makes them look.

i went through this exact debate lol. ended up with the mini 3 pro because the fly more combo was on sale and i just couldnt justify the price for the air 3. zero regrets so far, the footage looks amazing and my family has no idea what any of it means anyway they just like seeing the house from above haha. i think unless youre doing paid work or really care about the tele lens its hard to go wrong with either one honestly.
