Been fighting a persistent "Gimbal Motor Overloaded" error on my Air 2S for three weeks now. The gimbal will calibrate successfully in DJI Fly app, but during flight I get intermittent overload warnings and noticeable horizon drift to the left by about 5-7 degrees.

Already tried:

• Multiple gimbal calibrations on level surface
• IMU calibration (completed successfully)
• Firmware refresh via DJI Assistant 2
• Cleaned around gimbal mechanism with compressed air
• Verified no physical obstructions or damage

The gimbal moves freely through full range of motion when powered off. Could this be a failing gimbal motor or control board issue? Flight performance is otherwise normal.

That persistent left drift combined with overload errors sounds like a failing pitch or roll motor. The fact that calibration succeeds but fails under flight load is classic motor degradation. If it's still under warranty, DJI will likely replace the whole gimbal assembly - don't try to DIY this one.

Have you checked if you're flying in Sport mode? I've seen similar overload errors when pilots push the sticks too aggressively in S-mode. Try flying in Normal mode and see if the errors persist. Also, what's the wind conditions been like during your test flights?

I'm skeptical about the motor failure theory. Before sending it in, try doing the gimbal calibration in a completely different location - sometimes electromagnetic interference from power lines or cell towers can cause these phantom errors. Also check your microSD card isn't causing processing lag.
