so this has been driving me crazy for the past two weeks. im flying my mini 3 pro and it just randomly drops connection, sometimes at like 150m sometimes closer to 400m, theres no pattern i can figure out. the RC-N1 controller shows signal lost for maybe 3-5 seconds then it reconnects and the drone just hovers there doing its RTH warning thing before i get control back.

ive tried different flying spots thinking maybe it was interference but same thing happens at the park near my house AND out in an open field with basically nothing around. updated firmware, reinstalled the app, nothing changed. battery is fine, i checked the antenna orientation too which people always bring up first.

the weird thing is my buddy was flying his mini 2 right next to me last weekend and he had zero issues the whole time. makes me think its something specific to my setup but i genuinely cant figure out what. anyone dealt with this before

had almost the exact same thing happen with my air 2s a few months back. turned out my phone was the problem, not the drone. the dji fly app was being throttled by my phone's battery optimization settings so it kept killing the background process or something, the connection would drop whenever the phone decided it didnt need full resources. went into battery settings and excluded the dji fly app from optimization and it basically stopped happening. worth checking if youre using a phone with the RC-N1 because that setup is way more sensitive to the phone's performance than people realize.

could also be a loose antenna connection internally. ive seen a couple posts on here and on reddit where people cracked open their RC-N1 (after warranty obviously) and found the coax connection to one of the antennas was barely seated. not saying go disassemble it but if you're still under warranty maybe worth a DJI support ticket and just describe the symptoms, they sometimes do replacements without too much hassle. also what phone are you using
