updated to the latest firmware last night through the fly app and now my gimbal is doing this thing where it drifts left during video and the horizon correction just doesnt seem to be doing anything. rolled back my phone app version thinking maybe it was a software conflict but same behavior. the gimbal physically feels fine, no binding or anything weird when i move it by hand with the drone off.

i did a full imu and compass calibration this morning out in the field, flat surface, no metal nearby, all the usual stuff. horizon is off by maybe 3-4 degrees in the footage and its consistent not random which is almost worse because it means something is actually miscalibrated and not just glitching.

anyone else hit this after the update? i cant find much on it yet, maybe im one of the unlucky ones. considered doing a full factory reset but im nervous about losing my custom settings and also just nervous in general because last time i did a reset on my old mavic it caused more problems than it solved

same firmware, no gimbal issues here but i've seen a couple people mentioning horizon problems in the facebook group. think it might be specific to certain units or maybe a gimbal calibration that didnt survive the update properly. the gimbal calibration is separate from imu by the way ? in the fly app its under camera settings i think, not the main calibration menu. its easy to miss and most people skip it. try that before the factory reset

this is exactly why i wait at least two weeks before updating anything on a drone i actually use for work. let other people find the bugs first. not trying to be smug about it just genuinely learned this the hard way after a focus tracking issue wrecked like three gigs worth of footage back when i was updating same day as release. DJI usually pushes a hotfix within a week or two if its a widespread thing, might be worth just sitting on it.

that said if you need to fly soon the factory reset probably isnt as scary as you think, just screenshot your custom settings first so you can put them back manually. its tedious but takes maybe 10 minutes.
