finally picked up an EVO Lite+ and honestly kind of surprised

so i've been flying DJI stuff for like 4 years and my buddy kept telling me to look at the Autel EVO Lite+ and i always kind of brushed it off because i figured it was just a cheaper knockoff situation. finally grabbed one used for a decent price and spent the last few weekends putting it through its paces.

first thing i noticed is the image quality in low light is genuinely really good. like i was not expecting that at all. shot some stuff at dusk over a lake near my house and the noise handling was way better than i thought it'd be for a drone in this price range. the variable aperture is nice to have too even though i know some people dont think it matters that much for aerial work.

the remote is big and chunky compared to the DJI RC stuff but it doesnt bother me. battery life on the drone itself feels solid, been getting close to advertised times which rarely happens in my experience. the Autel Sky app has some quirks and i'm still figuring out some of the automated flight modes but nothing dealbreaking so far.

anyone else running one of these? curious what accessories people are finding actually worth it. been eyeing some ND filters but not sure which brands are actually making ones that fit right.

welcome to the Autel side lol. i've had mine for about 8 months and yeah the low light thing is real, people sleep on it. for ND filters i went with Freewell and they fit fine, no wobble or anything. just make sure you double check which version of the Lite+ you have because there were some slight differences i think in the lens housing between batches and apparently some third party filters had issues on the earlier units. mine is the later one and havent had any problems.

the app does get better once you learn where everything is buried. autel pushed a few firmware updates that helped with some of the stability in the automated modes too so if you havent updated recently worth doing that first.

ive been curious about this one too. does obstacle avoidance actually work well on it? that was my main hesitation, i fly in some tighter spots sometimes and the specs looked ok but specs and real world are always different.
