so ive had my Air 3 since last spring and honestly love it, no complaints really. but i keep seeing the Air 3S pop up and reading about the bigger sensor and now im second guessing myself which is super annoying because i was perfectly happy two weeks ago lol

my use is pretty much just weekend hikes, occasional family vacation stuff, nothing professional. i dont sell footage or anything like that. the Air 3 footage already looks amazing to me on my tv but i also dont really know what im missing since ive never shot with the 3S. is the low light improvement actually noticeable in real world use or is it one of those things thats only obvious when you pixel peep on a monitor?

also curious if anyone whos made the switch regrets it or wishes they just kept what they had. not looking to spend another $1100 if its just marginal gains for my use case

honestly for weekend hiking and vacation shots i would just keep the Air 3. i made a similar jump from the Mini 3 Pro to the Air 3 and that felt like a real upgrade. going from Air 3 to 3S is more like... refinement? the 1-inch sensor is genuinely better in lower light and the subject tracking got improved but if your footage already looks great to you on the TV then you probably wont feel like you got $1100 worth of difference in your gut, you know?

now if you shoot a lot at golden hour or push into dusk flying, that might actually be where you notice it. but casual weekend stuff in decent light, nah id save the money personally

i just got the 3S two months ago as my first drone so i cant really compare but the low light thing is real, shot some stuff at dusk last week and it was way better than i expected. that said i have nothing to compare it to so take that for what its worth lol
