so this has been driving me absolutely insane for the past two weeks. im flying my mini 3 pro and it just randomly disconnects from the rc2 controller, sometimes at like 50 meters, sometimes i can get it out to 300 before it drops. theres no pattern to it that i can figure out. it reconnects usually within a few seconds but ive had two incidents now where it went into rth on its own because the link stayed dropped for too long.

i thought maybe it was wifi interference from the neighborhood so i went out to a field on the edge of town, pretty much nothing around, and it still happened twice in an hour. the signal bars on the controller just tank suddenly and then boom, disconnected. firmware is up to date, checked that first thing. rc2 battery was above 80% both times.

is this a hardware issue with the rc2 or could something else cause this? genuinely stumped here and dont want to keep flying it if its going to do an rth over trees or something

had basically this exact thing happen with my rc-n1 a while back. turned out the antenna connections on the controller were the culprit, one of them wasnt seated properly from the factory. if you open up the rc2 (i know some people dont want to void warranty but) the antenna leads can work themselves loose, especially if the thing gets knocked around in a bag. might be worth checking if youre still in warranty period too because dji actually replaced mine no questions asked when i described the symptoms.

also worth trying ? go into the dji fly app and under the video transmission settings make sure you're on a fixed channel rather than auto. auto channel selection can cause it to try and hop channels at the worst times and it looks exactly like what you're describing.

could also just be a faulty unit tbh. i know thats not a satisfying answer but the rc2 had a bit of a rough batch early on, lots of people reported flaky connections. worth posting your flight logs if you have them, someone on here or on the dji forum can usually pull out exactly when and why the link dropped from the telemetry data
