agras T40 spraying pattern issue - getting streaks across the field

  • Members

been having a weird problem with uneven coverage on the T40 for about three weeks now and cant figure out if its a nozzle thing or a flight parameter thing or something else entirely. the streaks show up pretty consistently and theyre parallel to the flight path which makes me think its not a clog but who knows. running ab line routes at 5m spacing with the boom spread at full width.

already checked the nozzles and they all look clear, flow rate seems right when i test them on the ground. pressure is set to like 2.8 bar which is what we were running all last year with no issues. the field has some slight slope to it maybe 3-4% grade but nothing dramatic. firmware is current as of like two months ago, maybe theres been an update since then i havent checked

anyone seen this before or have any idea what to check next

first thing id check is whether the streaks are consistently on the same side of each pass or alternating. if theyre always on the same side it points to one side of the boom having a flow issue - could be a partially blocked filter upstream of that nozzle bank rather than the nozzle itself. the inline filters on the T40 are easy to overlook and they dont always show obvious blockage when you eyeball them.

also 5m spacing at full boom width is pretty tight depending on which nozzle type youre running. if youre using flat fan nozzles the overlap pattern matters a lot and any speed variation during turns can cause exactly what youre describing. check your overlap setting in the dji ag app and make sure the headland turns are configured to let the aircraft stabilize before it starts spraying again. there was also a firmware update in maybe march or april that supposedly improved the pump flow regulation, might be worth checking where you are on that.

had something similar and it turned out to be wind. even like 8-10 kph crosswind was enough to push the spray pattern off at the boom spread we were running. started flying earlier in the morning before it picked up and the streaking basically disappeared. might not be your issue but worth ruling out especially with any kind of slope since terrain can create weird local air movement
