yeah this has been going on for a couple months now. failed it the first time and thought i knew what went wrong so i studied more and failed again last week. i passed all the practice tests i was doing so i dont really get it. the questions on the actual exam felt way more specific than anything i studied, especially the airspace stuff. im not sure if im using the wrong study materials or just not understanding the concepts well enough. has anyone else had this problem and what did you actually do differently to pass. i really need this for work and its getting frustrating

the practice tests on a lot of the free sites are honestly too easy and they recycle the same questions. the real exam pulls from a much larger pool and the wording is tricky on purpose. what helped me was not just memorizing answers but actually understanding WHY an answer is correct. like with airspace questions, i stopped trying to remember specific numbers and just learned how to read a sectional properly so i could figure out any question they threw at me. also the FAA study guide (its free on their site, the actual one) has sample questions that are much closer to real exam difficulty than most third party stuff

two fails is rough but its not uncommon, more people do it than they admit. one thing that tripped me up was the weather section, specifically reading METARs and knowing what conditions are legal to fly in under part 107. theres also some questions about airport operations and runway markings that seem random but show up more than youd expect. do you know which sections youre scoring low on? the score report after the exam should break it down by topic, that would tell you exactly where to focus instead of just restudying everything again
