mini 3 pro vs air 3 - is the price difference actually worth it

  • Members

so ive been going back and forth on this for like two weeks now and i cant make up my mind. currently flying a mini 2 and looking to upgrade. the mini 3 pro feels like the natural next step but then i keep reading people saying just save up a bit more and get the air 3 for the dual cameras alone.

my main use is just weekend flying, some travel stuff, occasional shots for my brothers landscaping business nothing crazy professional. i dont think i need 4/3 sensor but then again ive never shot with one so maybe im just saying that because i dont know what im missing. battery life on the air 3 does look genuinely better on paper too.

anyone gone from a mini series to the air 3 and felt like it was a big jump or did you feel like you overpaid for stuff you dont use

honestly went through the exact same thing last spring. ended up with the air 3 and dont regret it but ill be real with you - for landscaping shots and casual travel the mini 3 pro would probably do 90% of the same job. the medium tele lens on the air 3 is genuinely useful though, more than i expected. like i thought id barely use it and now its probably my most used camera on there. if budget is tight at all go mini 3 pro, if you can stretch it without it hurting the air 3 is a nicer overall package.

the battery life difference is real btw not just on paper. air 3 with the intelligent flight batteries is noticeably longer in actual use not just the spec sheet numbers. that alone mattered to me when im out somewhere and dont want to be swapping every 20 minutes
