ok so i bought a DJI Mini 2 SE like two weeks ago and its still sitting in the box because im kind of scared to just take it out and break it immediately. i watched a few youtube videos but everyone seems to assume you already know stuff. like what does ATTI mode even mean and do i need to register it before i even fly it once just in the backyard? also is there a way to practice without actually flying it because i really dont want to crash on day one. sorry if these are dumb questions

not dumb at all, everyone starts here. the registration thing depends where you are ? in the US you need to register with the FAA if it weighs over 250g, which the Mini 2 SE does i think, so do that first before anything. the DJI fly app actually has a simulator built in, i totally forgot about it when i started but its genuinely useful for getting a feel for the sticks. ATTI mode is basically when GPS drops out and the drone doesnt hold its position anymore so wind can push it around ? you probably wont run into that for a while, dont stress about it yet. just take it out somewhere open with no trees and do slow small movements, you'll be fine

honestly the box thing is real lol i did the same with my first one. just take it out to a big empty park on a calm day, low wind makes everything easier when youre starting. the simulator is good but nothing really prepares you like actually feeling it in the air. you're gonna be nervous the whole first flight and thats normal
