this has been happening for a few weeks now and i cant figure out what changed. im flying the air 2s and the connection just drops randomly, usually when im maybe 200-300m out. signal comes back after a few seconds but it's really unsettling and i had one instance where the drone just hovered in place and wouldnt respond for like 15 seconds. i checked and theres no obvious interference nearby, im flying at a field i've used dozens of times with no issues before.

updated to the latest firmware thinking that would fix it but honestly it might have made it worse, not sure. phone is a pixel 6 if that matters. anyone dealt with this or know what to actually check because ive been going down rabbit holes online and getting nowhere

the Pixel 6 thing might actually be relevant, there were some reported issues with certain Android versions and the DJI Fly app not playing nice together, something to do with background process management killing the USB connection. try going into your phone's battery settings and making sure DJI Fly is excluded from any battery optimization. sounds dumb but it genuinely fixes this for a lot of people. also worth trying a different USB cable, the stock ones can be flaky.

also just to ask the obvious ? are the controller antennas positioned correctly? i know you've been flying a while but ive seen experienced people forget to angle them properly after getting complacent

had something weirdly similar after a firmware update on my mavic 3, ended up doing a full cache clear on the app and it basically resolved itself. no idea why that works but it did. also someone in another thread mentioned that the latest DJI Fly update had a bug with certain Android builds and they rolled back to a previous version of the app which you can find if you look around. not ideal but might be worth trying if nothing else works
