so i updated my H20T gimbal firmware last week and ever since then the pitch axis just slowly drifts down during longer flights. like it'll start level and by the time i've done a full orbit it's pointing like 20 degrees down and i have to manually nudge it back. never did this before the update and nothing else changed.

ive tried recalibrating the IMU, redoing the gimbal calibration twice, even swapped the ribbon cable thinking maybe it got damaged at some point. still does it. anyone run into this with recent Zenmuse firmware or honestly any gimbal at this point because im starting to wonder if its a hardware thing that the update just made worse somehow.

the footage is basically unusable on longer automated missions because the camera just slowly tilts and you dont notice until you pull the card. really frustrating when youre trying to deliver consistent orthomosaic work.

had almost the exact same issue with my X7 after a Mavic 3E update accidentally pushed to the wrong profile in DJI Pilot 2. turned out the gimbal fine-tune settings had reset and the pitch trim was just slightly off, but over time it compounds. worth checking if your pitch fine tune got zeroed out during the update ? its buried in the camera settings not the gimbal menu which is why people miss it.

also if youre doing automated missions check if the gimbal stabilization mode got switched to FPV mode somewhere, that can cause slow drift that looks like a hardware issue but isnt.

might be worth just rolling back the firmware if you can. i know DJI makes that annoying sometimes but ive had two situations where an update just broke something subtle like that and rolling back fixed it immediately. not ideal but at least you'd know if its the firmware causing it vs actual hardware degrading.
