mini 4 pro keeps drifting sideways even with no wind??

  • Members

so ive had my mini 4 pro for about 3 months now and just started noticing it drifts to the left when hovering. like ill let go of the sticks completely and it just slowly slides left. calibrated the IMU twice already and did the compass cal in an open field. doesnt seem to matter if im in normal mode or cine mode, still does it. not a huge drift but enough that i have to keep correcting which is annoying when im trying to do a slow reveal shot or whatever

anyone else had this? is this just something you have to live with or is there actually a fix. i was reading something about the vision positioning sensors maybe being dirty but idk if thats related

yeah the vision sensors being dirty can definitely cause wonky hovering behavior, give them a gentle wipe with a microfiber cloth and see if that helps. but honestly a little drift isnt super unusual especially if youre flying over surfaces with low contrast like grass or water where the downward sensors struggle. what surface were you hovering over when you noticed it?

also just to confirm ? you calibrated on a flat non-magnetic surface right? parking lots near cars can mess with compass cal pretty bad in my experience

I had the exact same thing with mine around the same time after I got it. Ended up just being a firmware thing weirdly, there was an update maybe 6 weeks ago that seemed to help with my unit at least. Worth checking if youre on the latest version if you havent already. Mine still drifts a tiny bit but nothing like before
