thinking about just buying a prebuilt 5" instead of building again - anyone running the diatone roma f5?

so ive been building my own quads for like 4 years now and honestly im just tired of it. sourcing parts, waiting on banggood shipments, soldering at 1am because thats the only free time i have... i just want something that flies out of the box and doesnt need three weeks of debugging before i can actually rip it.

been looking at the diatone roma f5 v2 mostly because a buddy has one and it seems solid, but also been eyeing the iflight nazgul evoque and honestly the new speedybee stuff is tempting just on price alone. the thing is i dont know how much tuning headroom these things actually have. like if the stock betaflight tune is garbage am i just stuck or can you actually get these to fly like a proper custom build?

mostly freestyle, occasional cinematic stuff with a naked gopro. not racing. weight isnt a huge concern but i do care about how it feels on the sticks. anyone actually daily driving one of these prebuilts and can give me a real take?

been on the nazgul evoque f5 v2 for about 8 months now and honestly it replaced my custom 5" that i spent way too much money on. the stock tune is... okay. not embarassing but definitely not what it can be. spent maybe an hour in blackbox doing some rpm filter tweaking and adjusting the d-term and it came alive. the motors they ship it with are decent, mine are still going strong and ive had a few good crashes with it.

the diatone i cant speak to personally but ive seen enough builds come through our local group that have had ESC issues within the first month. could be a batch thing, could be user error, who knows. the speedybee master 5 is what id actually look at if price is the factor - the f405 stack they put in it is genuinely good hardware and you get a lot more to work with if you decide to go deeper on tuning later. frame is a bit chunky but it flies well enough.

short answer: yes you can tune these, yes they fly well after you do, no the stock tune wont make you happy if youve been building your own stuff for years.
