so ive had my Air 3 for about four months now and overall pretty happy with it but the hyperlapse stuff is kind of driving me nuts. i came from a Mavic Mini 2 and honestly didnt use hyperlapse much on that so maybe my expectations are just off.

the free mode works fine but circle and asteroid modes keep giving me these slightly jerky results even when the wind is basically nothing. ive tried tweaking the interval settings and going longer between shots seems to help a little but its still not as smooth as the stuff i see people posting on youtube. are those people just doing a ton of post processing or is there some setting im obviously missing

also ? does anyone shoot hyperlapse in RAW on this thing or is jpeg fine for that use case. i feel like ive been overthinking it

the jerkiness in circle mode at least for me was almost always either a slightly inconsistent GPS lock or ? and this one took me forever to figure out ? having the gimbal stabilization set wrong. make sure you're in standard stabilization not sport mode equivalent because it affects how the gimbal compensates during rotation. also give it like a full minute after you arm it before you even try to set the hyperlapse path, the Air 3 sometimes takes a while to really settle its positioning.

on the RAW question, for asteroid mode i'd say yes absolutely shoot RAW because the stitching at the end can clip highlights pretty aggressively and you want that latitude. for a simple dronie or circle where the exposure isnt changing much jpeg is probably fine honestly.

i had the same issue and watched like six tutorials before someone in another forum mentioned that low battery can cause subtle GPS wobble that shows up in hyperlapse even if everything looks fine on the screen. now i only do hyperlapse shots when im above 60% and its noticeably better. maybe coincidence but i dont think so
