finally got the Mavic 3 Classic after months of debating - some thoughts after first few flights

okay so i kept going back and forth between the Mini 4 Pro and the Classic for like four months, reading every comparison thread i could find, and i eventually just pulled the trigger on the Classic because i wanted that Hasselblad color science and figured id regret not getting it. first flight was at a local park yesterday morning and honestly im still kind of blown away by how good the footage looks straight out of the camera, even without any color grading.

one thing i wasnt expecting is how stable it is in wind. we had some gusts coming through and it just kind of... sat there. barely moved. compared to my old Mini 2 that thing would be fighting the whole time. also the RC controller with the built-in screen is so much nicer than i thought it would be, the display is readable even in bright sunlight which was always my biggest complaint about using my phone.

only gripe so far is the size. its not huge but its definitely not pocket-able and my bag setup doesnt really work anymore so i need to figure out a carry solution. anyone using a specific bag they like for the Classic? im not looking for anything massive, just something that fits the drone, maybe 2-3 batteries and a few ND filters without being a whole production to carry around.

congrats on the Classic, great choice honestly. i went through the same debate and landed on the same thing about 8 months ago and havent looked back. for bags i ended up with the Shimoda Explore 30 and it works really well - not specifically a drone bag but theres a dedicated drone cube insert you can get for it and it fits the Mavic 3 perfectly with room for batteries and filters. the whole bag doesnt scream "i have expensive camera gear" either which i appreciate when im hiking around.

the Hasselblad color is real btw, especially if you shoot in D-Log M and do even a basic grade. the skintones in particular just look different to me compared to other drones ive used.

yeah the wind handling on the Mavic 3 line is no joke. i took mine out in conditions i probably shouldnt have and it held position better than i expected. the RC controller screen took some getting used to for me since i was so used to my phone but now i cant imagine going back.
