so this has been driving me crazy for about two weeks now. i updated the firmware on my Zenmuse X7 (running it on an M300) and ever since the gimbal just slowly drifts to the left during longer shots. like its not a snap or a jerk, its this really slow creep that you dont even notice until you pull up the footage and something that should be a locked off shot is basically a slow pan.

ive done the gimbal calibration like three times, checked all the mounting screws, reseated the camera, nothing. its most noticeable when im doing slow orbits but honestly it shows up on straight line flights too if theyre long enough. roll axis looks fine, its definitely yaw or pitch, hard to tell which without doing a proper grid test.

anyone seen this after a firmware push or am i losing my mind

yeah i saw something similar on my X5S after an update maybe eight months ago, different platform but the drift thing sounds familiar. what ended up fixing it for me was doing a full IMU recalibration on flat ground, not just the gimbal cal. the gimbal uses the aircraft IMU as a reference point and if that's even slightly off after a firmware flash it can introduce this kind of slow drift. worth trying before you start pointing fingers at the gimbal itself.

also double check that your gimbal mode is set correctly in the app, sometimes an update resets things back to defaults and if its in follow mode instead of lock it'll behave exactly how you're describing.

did you roll back to the previous firmware to test? that would at least confirm its the update causing it and not something that coincidentally happened around the same time. i always wait like 3 weeks before updating anything on a rig im using for paid work, too many times ive gotten burned
