so this happened a couple weeks ago and i'm still kind of processing it. was flying my Mavic Air 2S over this reservoir near my house, nothing i havent done a dozen times before, had it probably 400 meters out and maybe 80 feet up and then just... signal dropped. full disconnect. RC screen went grey and the bird just disappeared from the map for what felt like forever but was probably like 6 or 7 seconds.
it came back on its own and RTH kicked in and it landed fine like 15 feet from where i was standing. heart was absolutely pounding though. went back through the logs and it looks like there was some kind of interference spike, there's a cell tower on the ridge i was pointed toward and i think the antenna orientation was bad. anyway moral of the story i guess is always check your antenna angle and maybe dont fly directly toward known interference sources which sounds obvious now but yeah. just wanted to share because i've seen a lot of "close call" posts help me think through stuff before it happens to me
