wind in iceland is no joke. took my air 2s there two years ago and lost about 15 minutes of battery one afternoon just fighting to hold position. the geothermal areas are also worth checking before yo
so i just got back from two weeks in iceland and brought my mini 3 pro along for the first time on an international trip and honestly it was kind of a disaster at first. spent the first three days not even flying because i was so confused about the rules there. you need to register with isavia which is their aviation authority and i had no idea until i was literally already there and someone at the guesthouse mentioned it. downloaded the app but the whole process took like a day to figure out because the interface is a bit clunky and i wasnt sure if my category counted as open or specific operations.
once i got sorted though it was absolutely worth it. flew near jokulsarlon and the light at like 11pm was just insane, golden hour that never really ends. wind was brutal some days though, mini 3 handled it better than i expected but there were definitely a couple moments where i was sweating pretty hard watching it fight to come back.
anyway if anyones planning iceland just do the isavia registration before you go and check the map apps they have for restricted zones, there are more no fly areas than you'd think especially near the national parks.
