Spray nozzle clogging on T30 - filtration vs mixing order issue?

  • Members

Running into persistent nozzle clogging on my T30 during tank mixes with Liberty 280 + Gramoxone + AMS. Using 100-mesh screens but still getting blockages every 45-60 minutes of operation. Mixing order is clean water, dry formulations first, then liquids, finishing with adjuvants per standard protocol.

Wondering if this is a small droplet spray deposition issue where frequent tank refilling affects mixture stability. The limited tank space and minimal agitation in drones demands precise handling but I'm not sure if I need better filtration or different mixing approach.

  • Current setup: 50-mesh pre-filter, 100-mesh nozzle screens
  • Tank capacity: 30L, typical 4-6 refills per field
  • Flight time: 12-15 min per tank

Liberty + Gramoxone is notorious for precipitation. Conduct a jar test combining small amounts using same ratios as your drone tank. Let it sit 30 minutes - bet you'll see separation. Try splitting that mix or adding more AMS as a compatibility agent.

I had similar issues until switching to multi-stage filtration with progressive 50-100 mesh system. Also, are you recirculating between fills? Static mixing in nurse tanks causes stratification that kills nozzles downstream. Consider a small recirculation pump.

What's your pH running? Liberty is pH sensitive and Gramoxone can shift it. Pay attention to pH and formulations (powders vs liquids) - might need to buffer the tank mix. Also check if you're exceeding the T30's max pump output specifications which could create pressure issues.
