did anyone else see the new DJI announcement or is it just me losing my mind

so i was just scrolling through my feed this morning and saw something about DJI dropping hints about a new mini series drone and i honestly cant tell if its a legit leak or just some youtuber farming clicks again. the renders looked pretty clean though and if the specs are even close to what people are saying about the obstacle avoidance being on the smaller platform that would be huge for those of us who fly in tighter spots

also separately ? has anyone been keeping up with the FAA stuff around remote ID enforcement? i got a notification from my local club that they're starting to actually ticket people now in some areas but i havent been able to find any solid info on how widespread that actually is. feels like every few months theres another wave of "this is the year they crack down" and then nothing really happens but i dunno this time might be different

anyway just wanted to see if anyone had more info on either of those things

the DJI thing is real, or at least as real as leaks get before an official announcement. there were some FCC filings that got dug up and the model numbers match what a few of the bigger channels have been talking about. i wouldnt hold my breath on the obstacle avoidance claim specifically because thats been rumored on the mini line for like two generations now and they keep leaving it out, probably to protect the Air series sales. but the camera improvements sound plausible

on the remote ID stuff, yeah my flying club got the same kind of notice. from what i understand the enforcement is still pretty uneven, mostly happening near airports and in controlled airspace where theyre already paying attention. if youre flying in a random field somewhere youre probably fine for now but its definitely not something to ignore forever, getting a broadcast module isnt that expensive if your drone doesnt have it built in

omg yes i saw the same thing and went down a rabbit hole for like an hour lol. the video i watched had side by side comparisons with the mini 4 pro and the new one looks a bit chunkier which some people think means more battery but who knows. i just got into flying like 4 months ago so half the spec talk goes over my head but im excited either way

i didnt even know remote ID was a thing until recently tbh, had to look it up after someone in another thread mentioned it. kinda overwhelming how much regulation stuff there is to keep track of when youre new
