ok so this might be a dumb question but bear with me. ive had my air 3 for about 4 months now and the footage looks fine to me most of the time. my friend keeps telling me i need nd filters and sent me a link to a set thats like $80. i watched a couple youtube videos about the 180 degree shutter rule and i kind of get it in theory but honestly when i look at my footage i dont really notice motion blur being a problem.

is this one of those things where once you know what to look for you cant unsee it, or is it genuinely not that big a deal for casual flying. i mostly shoot landscape stuff and occasional family trips nothing serious

Honest answer ? for casual stuff and sharing on social media, probably not a huge deal. You'll survive without them. But if you ever compare the same shot with and without on a bright day with some movement, the difference in how the footage feels is pretty noticeable. It's not just the blur thing, the whole image looks more... cinematic I guess, less like a video game. That said $80 for a decent set is pretty reasonable and the Freewell ones for the Air 3 are solid, not saying go crazy with expensive glass.

yeah once you see the jello-y fast shutter look on a sunny day you kinda cant unsee it tbh. especially on anything with moving water or trees in wind. i resisted buying filters for like a year and now i wont fly without them on anything i actually care about keeping. totally optional though if youre just doing family trip stuff
