finally got my Mavic 3 Classic and some things nobody told me

so ive had the Mavic 3 Classic for about three weeks now and honestly most of the youtube reviews dont really cover the annoying little stuff you figure out on your own. like the first thing i noticed is the gimbal takes a lot longer to initialize than my old Mini 2 did, and i kept thinking something was wrong. turns out thats just how it is apparently.

also the ND filters that came with the fly more combo are fine but the 64 is almost useless unless youre shooting in really bright midday sun, i feel like a 16 and a 32 would have been way more practical for golden hour stuff. ive been using a third party set from Freewell and they fit perfectly, no issues so far.

one thing i genuinely love is the mechanical shutter. coming from the Mini 2 the difference in sharpness on anything with slight motion is really noticeable. anyway just wanted to share in case anyone else is on the fence or just got one. happy to answer stuff if i can

the gimbal init thing caught me off guard too when i first got mine, i was like three seconds away from doing a warranty claim lol. and yeah the ND filter situation with the fly more kit is a bit weird, the 64 just sits in my case most of the time. good call on Freewell, i went with PolarPro but honestly at this price point i dont think you can tell the difference in real footage.

one thing i'd add for anyone new to the Mavic 3 line ? make sure you're updating firmware before your first flight and not during or after. i know that sounds obvious but i did it wrong the first time and had a weird compass calibration error that took me like an hour to sort out. not a huge deal but annoying when youre excited to fly.
