this has been bugging me for a while and im kind of at my wits end with it. the drone drifts noticeably to the left when im in normal mode, not hover mode, like when im just cruising slow for a shot. manual mode it obviously does whatever because thats the point but in normal it should be compensating for that right.

ive done the IMU calibration twice and compass once, still does it. controller sticks are centered fine i checked in the app. only thing i havent tried is a full firmware reflash but that seems extreme. could it be the motors? one of them did get pretty hot after a longer session last week but i didnt think much of it at the time. running the v1 FPV btw not the Avata

hot motor is probably your issue honestly. if one motor is running hotter than the others it could be a bearing starting to go or just some debris in the stator gap. the drift in normal mode is the flight controller trying to maintain position and compensating against a motor thats not spinning quite right so it ends up over-correcting on the other side or something like that.

id pull all four props off and spin each motor by hand, feel for any grinding or resistance. if one feels notchy compared to the others theres your answer. replacement motors for the FPV arent terrible to find, ifixit or the DJI store usually has them. also worth checking if the props are actually balanced and not cracked anywhere cause a tiny crack can cause weird vibrations that mess with the IMU readings

had something similar after a minor crash, turned out one of my props had a hairline crack i couldnt see without really looking. swapped all four and the drift basically went away. wouldnt have even thought to check if someone else hadnt mentioned it. the FPV drone is weirdly sensitive to prop balance compared to my other quads
