With all the uncertainty around DJI availability in the US, I'm wondering if it's time to look at alternatives. I currently have a Mini 3 Pro but thinking about upgrading. Are brands like Potensic, Skyrover, or Autel actually competitive now?

I do mostly real estate photography and need reliable range/image quality. Don't want to sacrifice too much just to avoid DJI. Has anyone made the switch and been happy with it?

The DJI alternative market in 2026 is smaller than it's ever been, but the Potensic Atom 2 is a genuine competitor in the sub-250g category at $330 and is the most direct competitor to the DJI Mini 4 Pro. The camera is genuinely competitive with the DJI Mini 3 at a lower price point.

The control link is the biggest gap - Potensic uses standard 2.4GHz radio with 10km spec range, but real-world performance in congested airspace is meaningfully shorter than DJI's O4 transmission at 20km. For real estate work where you need reliable long-range connection, that could be a dealbreaker depending on your typical shooting distances.

Price-wise it's compelling - about $750 for a Mini 4 Pro kit versus X1 pricing at $539 for a kit and $629 for a Fly More bundle. But the strategic problem is if you cannot count on new DJI models being sold, your next planned upgrade might not be an option in the U.S. I'm personally holding onto my DJI gear but testing alternatives as backups.
