okay so ive been chasing this for two days and im at my wits end. replaced motor 2 (front right on my setup) after a crash and now every time i try to take off it just flips violently to the right. doesnt matter what throttle level i use, even super gentle it just goes.

the replacement motor is the same spec as the others, 2205 2300kv, same brand even. i double checked the prop direction and it looks right to me. betaflight shows all motors responding in the correct order when i do the motor test in the configurator. checked that the props are on the right shafts too, bullnose on the right ones etc.

im probably missing something obvious but i cannot see it. someone please tell me im an idiot and point out what ive done wrong because ive been staring at this thing for hours

check your motor rotation direction. like actually check it, dont just assume. in betaflight motor tab you can spin each motor individually at low throttle and watch which way the shaft spins. after a motor swap its super easy to accidentally wire it in reverse rotation without realizing it, especially if you swapped any of the motor leads around. a motor spinning the wrong direction with the correct prop for that direction will generate negative thrust basically, which explains the flip. this is almost certainly your problem

yeah what he said about rotation is probably it. also though - did you re-run accelerometer calibration after the repair? i know it sounds dumb but if you had the quad on a slightly uneven surface when you calibrated or if the FC got knocked slightly out of alignment during the crash it can cause weird behavior on takeoff. probably not your issue here but worth doing anyway after any crash that hard. the flip direction really does sound like a motor rotation thing though.
