been looking at getting into spraying drones for our operation and narrowed it down to these two basically. everyone online seems to talk about the T40 because dji's marketing is everywhere but i've been hearing from a few guys at a field day last month that XAG is worth looking at seriously especially for support in certain regions. problem is there's way less real world info about the P100 out there, or at least less that isn't from XAG's own materials.

for context we're looking at canola and wheat, so relatively flat, large paddocks, and we're not doing anything exotic like tree crops. mainly worried about tank capacity, how well the obstacle avoidance actually works in field conditions (not demo conditions), and what happens when something breaks and you need a part fast. i've heard the t40 spreading system is really well sorted for granules too but we'd be liquid 90% of the time so maybe that doesnt matter as much.

ran the T40 for a full season on barley and wheat and the obstacle avoidance is genuinely good but you will still get it confused on certain things ? fence lines that are low and in shadows gave us issues a couple times where it slowed way down or tried to climb when it didn't need to. nothing catastrophic but annoying when you're trying to run efficient passes at dawn. the 40L tank sounds great until you realize your turnaround time between fills is still pretty fast on big paddocks and you need a well organized ground crew or you'll be wasting a lot of hover time.

haven't used the XAG personally so cant speak to it but i do know someone who has one and the parts situation was dicey for a while in Australia, may have improved since then though this was about 18 months ago.

the granules thing on the T40 is legitimately impressive if you ever did want to do that, it's one of the better implementations ive seen, but yeah for liquid canopy application it's kind of irrelevant. one thing people don't talk about enough is the RTK accuracy differences between these platforms for spray overlap management ? the T40 with RTK is very tight, like sub 10cm on passes which matters a lot when you're worried about drift on chemical applications. not sure how the XAG compares spec wise but worth checking their RTK implementation and whether it's built in or an add-on cost
