DJI vs Autel for a first serious drone ? am i overthinking this

  • Members

ok so ive been lurking here for a few months trying to figure out what to actually buy and i keep going in circles. started with the question of mini 4 pro vs autel evo nano+ and now ive somehow ended up comparing the air 3 to the evo lite+ and i think i just need someone to tell me im overthinking it.

the DJI ecosystem stuff makes sense to me, more accessories, bigger community, easier to find help when things go wrong. but the Autel pricing right now is actually pretty competitive and i read somewhere that the color science out of camera is better without needing to grade everything. im going to be doing mostly travel stuff, some landscape, maybe the occasional event for friends but nothing paid.

genuinely dont know if the Autel support situation is as bad as some people say or if thats just DJI fans being tribal about it. would love to hear from anyone whos actually used both not just one or the other

had an evo lite+ for about a year before switching to the air 3 and honestly the color science thing is slightly true but its been massively overstated online. like yes the jpegs out of the autel look

you are 100% overthinking it lol. for what youre describing just get the air 3 and move on, youll spend more time actually flying instead of reading specs. the autel stuff is fine but the resale value

had an evo lite+ for about a year before switching to the air 3 and honestly the color science thing is slightly true but its been massively overstated online. like yes the jpegs out of the autel look warmer and more pleasing straight off the drone but if you shoot in raw or log it kind of evens out. the support thing is where i did personally have a frustrating experience ? took almost 3 weeks to get a response when i had a gimbal issue, whereas DJI care refresh sorted my air 3 situation in like 5 days. for travel i think the ecosystem and the support infrastructure genuinely matters more than people admit when everythings going fine.
