been flying long enough to have used pretty much every transmission system DJI has put out and i keep seeing people argue about this online in ways that dont really match my experience so figured id just share what ive actually run into.

lightbridge was genuinely great for its time but i flew it in a couple downtown areas and it was a nightmare, like constant micro-stutters in the feed even at reasonable distances. O3 has been way better for me in urban stuff, it seems to handle crowded RF environments more gracefully, though i did have one weird afternoon near a sports stadium where it was struggling and i couldnt figure out why. wifi-based systems like the older mini 1 stuff i still have -- honestly fine if youre not anywhere near other wifi sources, but the second you get into a suburb it starts acting up, everyones router is fighting you.

curious if others have noticed the same or if ive just been unlucky with certain locations. also wondering if anyone has used the RC Pro controller and whether that actually makes a meaningful difference in interference scenarios vs the standard RC-N1

the stadium thing is almost certainly radar or some kind of event broadcast equipment, ive seen that happen before at large venues. they sometimes run temporary comms infrastructure that just wrecks the 2.4/5.8 bands in the area. nothing really you can do about it except stay closer.

on the RC Pro question -- honestly i dont think the transmission hardware itself is different enough to matter for interference, the advantage is more the built in screen so youre not dealing with the phone/cable weak link. which is actually not nothing, i had so many phantom dropouts that turned out to be a flaky lightning cable on my ipad setup.

ive only flown wifi stuff so cant really compare but yeah suburban flying is rough. my neighborhood alone shows like 30+ wifi networks when i scan and the mini drops connection if i get more than maybe 200 feet out sometimes. been thinking about upgrading just for that reason tbh. does O3 actually do frequency hopping or is it more about smarter channel selection
